Yesterday, it was our privilege to speak at a wonderful church in Dallas called Iglesia Luz Y Vida (Light and Life Church). Dios Les Bendiga!
God tends to show up right when we need Him...even at times when we didn't even know we needed Him. There is no doubt God had us at this beautiful church for a reason. Maybe the reason was to remind us what it will be like to not know a language or be able to understand the people speaking. Maybe it was a small reminder that life will be hard but He will be with us. Or maybe, just maybe, it was to simply show us AGAIN that we all worship the same God.
Twice now, Nancy and I both, have glimpsed into a slither of heaven through worship in a language we do not understand. Nancy said something very simple to me that made me want to get on a plane to Haiti right then (even more than I already do), she said "We are all worshiping the same God". How powerful is THAT!?!? In Nicaragua, God told us to step out on faith and move our family during a spanish speaking worship service. In Dallas, yet again, God told us that He is still with us and walking beside us during another spanish speaking worship service.
My point, besides how awesome the God is that we all serve, is simple. As hard as this journey is and will continue to be, there are always ...ALWAYS...did I say always?...moments to stop and worship our Savior. I never want to stop counting the cost of living for Christ by any means. As much as I do not want my family to suffer through sorrow, pain, hard times, sickness etc... I know that that cost is all for Christ. I pray that through the 'hard' times we can STOP in our tracks, realize that Jesus PAID the ultimate cost and fall to our faces and worship Him...no matter what language it may be in. We all worship the same God!
All this being said...those of you sacrificing to get us to Haiti through prayer and monthly donations...Thank you...THANK YOU!! Your cost to further the Kingdom is not going unnoticed. Getting to almost 25% funded in just two months is beyond anything we could accomplish alone. We still have a long way to go in raising up 300+ more prayer partners and people willing to partner with us on a monthly basis financially...but the good news?...we KNOW God will get us there. The same God we ALL worship.
